The lamp that was supposed to illuminate the future of a family was extinguished today by a drop of blood. But even more tragic and heartbreaking is the fact that before the smell of this blood could fade, dirty conspiracies and farces driven by political power interests have already begun.

When the finger of accusation points toward extortionists formed under political patronage, when the truth screams that refusing to pay extortion money was the only crime of this innocent family, right at that moment, a brazen drama was put on display! To cover up the crime and protect the real perpetrators hiding behind power, the administration hastily staged the familiar, old, and cheap script called "the act of drug addicts."

But the actors of this drama perhaps forgot that truth never stays buried beneath stains of blood. Breaking through the shroud of fog, the truth always emerges. The biggest flaw in this drama, staged under the guise of an operation, was exposed when the outfit worn by the investigating police officer last night was suddenly seen today on the arrested suspect! Is this merely a "coincidental" mistake, or the largest and most irresponsible flaw in a drama staged under complete political patronage? In an attempt to cover up a blood-soaked tragedy, sacrificing administrative professionalism in this manner strikes like a spear into the hearts of the general public.

When a country's judicial system and law enforcement agencies become blind with flattery and subservience to power, the protectors turn into the most ruthless predators. Four vibrant lives, the blooming smile of an innocent child—who are the hands behind trampling everything to death in the name of looting? Was this script drafted in the dark of night just to save political extortionists and terrorists?

This tragic truth, written in blood, cannot be concealed by any administrative cover-up. The silent anguish of an innocent family knocks on the conscience of every human being today. This administrative farce, falsely staged story, and political drama by BNP must be stopped immediately. The people of Rangpur and the entire country no longer want any staged stories; they demand a neutral investigation into the incident and exemplary, harshest punishment for the main perpetrators behind this barbaric murder and their harborers!
