ভৈরবের রাজপথ আজ নিস্তব্ধ, কিন্তু বাতাস ভারী হয়ে উঠেছে এক গভীর শোক আর হাহাকারে। ভৈরব পৌরসভা যুবলীগের প্রিয় সাধারণ সম্পাদক ও বারবার নির্বাচিত জননন্দিত কাউন্সিলর আল-আমিন সৈকত আর আমাদের মাঝে নেই। এক নির্মম ও জঘন্য হত্যাকাণ্ডের শিকার হয়ে তিনি চলে গেলেন ওপারে, রেখে গেলেন হাজারো মানুষের অশ্রু আর কখনো না মেটানো এক শূন্যতা।
সৈকতের জানাজায় রূপ নিয়েছিল এক বিশাল জনসমুদ্রে। আনুমানিক চার লক্ষাধিক মানুষের এই অভূতপূর্ব ঢলই প্রমাণ করে দেয়, ভৈরবের প্রতিটা ঘরে, প্রতিটা মানুষের হৃদয়ে কতটা গভীর ছিল তার স্থান। দল-মত নির্বিশেষে সর্বস্তরের সাধারণ মানুষ আজ একসূত্রে গেঁথে কেঁদেছেন; তাদের এই অনিয়ন্ত্রিত কান্না ও অশ্রুসিক্ত ভালোবাসাই বলে দেয় তিনি নিছক কোনো রাজনৈতিক নেতা ছিলেন না, ছিলেন মেহনতী মানুষের আপনজন, দুঃখের দিনের সত্যিকারের আশ্রয়স্থল।
রাজনীতির মাঠে সৈকত ছিলেন এক নির্ভীক ও আপসহীন বীর যোদ্ধা। জনগণের অধিকার আদায়ে তার সাহসিকতা ও বলিষ্ঠ নেতৃত্ব ভৈরবের রাজনৈতিক ইতিহাসে তাকে চিরস্মরণীয় করে রাখবে। বিএনপির সন্ত্রাসীদের এই নির্মম ও কাপুরুষোচিত হত্যাকাণ্ড গোটা অঞ্চলের মানুষকে স্তব্ধ করে দিয়েছে। এই জঘন্য হত্যাকাণ্ডের প্রভাব কেবল ভৈরবের সমকালীন রাজনীতিতেই নয়, পুরো অঞ্চলের রাজনৈতিক মানচিত্রে এক গভীর ও দীর্ঘস্থায়ী পরিবর্তন আনবে।
বাংলার মাটিতে এই নৃশংসতার বিচার অবশ্যই হতে হবে। অন্যায়ের বিরুদ্ধে সোচ্চার থাকা এই বীরের রক্তের প্রতিটি ফোঁটা বিচার দাবি করছে। আমরা তার বিদেহী আত্মার মাগফেরাত ও পরম করুণাময়ের দরবারে জান্নাতুল ফেরদাউস কামনা করি এবং তার শোকসন্তপ্ত পরিবারের প্রতি জানাই আমাদের গভীরতম সমবেদনা।
সময় হয়তো বয়ে যাবে, কিন্তু আল-আমিন সৈকতের নাম ভৈরবের ইতিহাস থেকে মুছে যাবে না। ঘাতকের বুলেট এক উদীয়মান নেতাকে আমাদের কাছ থেকে সরিয়ে দিলেও, সাধারণ মানুষের হৃদয়ের মণিকোঠায় তার স্মৃতি ও অবদান চিরভাস্বর হয়ে থাকবে। এই শোককে শক্তিতে পরিণত করে অন্যায়ের বিরুদ্ধে অনড় থাকার পথেই বেঁচে থাকবেন আমাদের প্রিয় সৈকত।

matrices—the streets of Bhairab are silent today, but the air hangs heavy with profound grief and lamentation. Al-Amin Saikat, the beloved General Secretary of Bhairab Pourashava Jubo League and a repeatedly elected popular councillor, is no longer among us. Fallen victim to a brutal and heinous murder, he has departed for the hereafter, leaving behind the tears of thousands and an irremediable void.
Saikat's funeral prayer (Janazah) transformed into a massive sea of people. This unprecedented gathering of an estimated over four hundred thousand people proves just how deep his place was in every home and every heart in Bhairab. Irrespective of political affiliation, ordinary people from all walks of life wept as one. Their uncontrollable tears and tearful love demonstrate that he was not merely a political leader, but a true kin to the working people and a genuine refuge in times of sorrow.
On the political battlefield, Saikat was a fearless and uncompromising warrior. His courage and strong leadership in realizing people's rights will keep him forever remembered in the political history of Bhairab. This brutal and cowardly murder by BNP terrorists has stunned the people of the entire region. The impact of this heinous crime will bring about a deep and lasting transformation not just in Bhairab’s contemporary politics, but across the political map of the entire region.
Justice for this atrocity must be delivered on the soil of Bengal. Every drop of blood from this hero who spoke out against injustice demands justice. We pray for the forgiveness of his departed soul and grant of Jannatul Ferdous in the court of the Most Merciful, and we extend our deepest condolences to his bereaved family.
Time may pass, but the name of Al-Amin Saikat will never be erased from the history of Bhairab. Although the assassin's bullet snatched an emerging leader away from us, his memory and contributions will remain forever luminous in the hearts of the common people. Our beloved Saikat will live on through turning this grief into strength and remaining steadfast against injustice.
