গ্লোবাল বাংলাদেশ ইউনিটি নেটওয়ার্ক (GBUN) ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সাতজন বিশিষ্ট অধ্যাপকের বিরুদ্ধে নেওয়া তড়িঘড়ি শাস্তিমূলক ব্যবস্থার তীব্র নিন্দা ও গভীর উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করেছে।
সম্প্রতি অধ্যাপক ড. সাদেকা হালিম, ড. জিনাত হুদা ও ড. নিয়াজ আহমেদ খানকে সাময়িক বরখাস্ত এবং ড. এ.এস.এম. মাকসুদ কামাল, ড. মোহাম্মদ সামাদ, ড. মোর্শেদ হাসান খান ও ড. সাদিকুল ইসলামকে দায়িত্ব থেকে অব্যাহতি দেওয়া হয়। GBUN-এর মতে, পূর্ণাঙ্গ ও নিরপেক্ষ তদন্তের আগেই এমন পদক্ষেপ শিক্ষকদের সুনাম ক্ষুণ্ণ করে এবং বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের স্বায়ত্তশাসন, আইনের শাসন ও একাডেমিক স্বাধীনতা নিয়ে গুরুতর প্রশ্ন তোলে।
GBUN-এর প্রধান দাবিসমূহ:
• গৃহীত শাস্তিমূলক ব্যবস্থার স্বাধীন, নিরপেক্ষ ও স্বচ্ছ পর্যালোচনা নিশ্চিত করা।
• বিভাগীয় কার্যক্রমে যথাযথ আইনি প্রক্রিয়া ও ন্যায়বিচারের নীতি কঠোরভাবে অনুসরণ।
• ভয়ভীতি, হয়রানি ও প্রতিশোধমূলক আচরণ বন্ধ করে মতপ্রকাশের স্বাধীনতা ও সুরক্ষার ব্যবস্থা করা।
• বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় প্রশাসনে জবাবদিহি এবং রাজনৈতিক প্রভাবমুক্ত পরিবেশ নিশ্চিত করা।
১ আগস্ট ২০২৬ তারিখে ড. আবুল হাসনাত মিল্টন ও ফয়েজ খান তৌহিদ স্বাক্ষরিত এক বিবৃতিতে বলা হয়, এই ঘটনা দেশের উচ্চশিক্ষার বিশ্বাসযোগ্যতা ও আইনের শাসনের সাথে জড়িত। ঘটনার সুষ্ঠু নিষ্পত্তি না হওয়া পর্যন্ত দেশীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক পর্যায়ে জিবিইউএন তাদের তৎপরতা অব্যাহত রাখবে।

The Global Bangladesh Unity Network (GBUN) has expressed deep concern and strongly condemned the hasty disciplinary actions taken against seven prominent professors of Dhaka University.
Recently, Prof. Dr. Sadeka Halim, Prof. Dr. Zinat Huda, and Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan were temporarily suspended, while Prof. Dr. A.S.M. Maksud Kamal, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Samad, Prof. Dr. Morshed Hasan Khan, and Prof. Dr. Sadikul Islam were relieved of their duties. According to GBUN, taking such steps before a full and impartial investigation damages the teachers' reputations and raises serious questions regarding the university's autonomy, rule of law, and academic freedom.
Key Demands of GBUN:
• Ensure an independent, impartial, and transparent review of the disciplinary measures taken.
• Strictly follow due legal processes and the principles of natural justice in departmental proceedings.
• Ensure freedom of expression and protection by stopping all forms of intimidation, harassment, and vindictive behavior.
• Establish accountability and a political influence-free environment within the university administration.

In a statement signed by Dr. Abul Hasnat Milton and Foyez Khan Towhid on August 1, 2026, it was noted that this incident is deeply connected to the credibility of the country's higher education and the rule of law. GBUN will continue its activities at both national and international levels until a fair resolution is achieved.
